its happened to the best of us

It's strange to think of one's life as an analogy to climbing a mountain. It's STRANGER to discover, after years of striving to reach the pinnacle, that it's the wrong slope. This is what happened to a good friend of mine..let's just call him Buddy. Buddy spent twenty five years of his life climbing the wrong mountain. Presumably he had to consider it time wisely spent. Either way, none could have told him he was persuasively climbing the wrong pile of garbage(Oh we tried telling). Buddy had to uncover the truth for himself. Truth be told, in the awkward way life happily screws us over, it happened to be the correct mountain !

Let me explain a bit, to understand the certainity of his existence, Buddy had to crawl up a gruelling slope that only led to the fulfillment of his ill-formed juvenile dreams. There was never an alternative mountain for him, simply because he was inept of imagining one. So he went on. Until one day, he looked around and saw that he'd reached the top. The apex. The place where vultures took a dump. And that's when he noticed the mountain he was always MEANT TO climb, far off in the distance. (there's more) ... everyone climbing that mountain was truly cheerful. So Buddy did the only thing a rational man could do in his situation, he shouted to those people and told them THEY were on the wrong mountain.
